Review of exams
What if the silence of a monastery became your best ally to revise: concentration, calm and a meaningful break.

Meeting with a nun
Nun, what is it?
The word comes from the Greek monos, “alone.” Not the solitude we flee, but the one we choose: to free ourselves from noise, from solicitations, to refocus. "Alone" also means "unified". A life finally aligned, centered on Christ, which makes available to others instead of isolating them. "She who looks only to God, desires only God, becomes a source of peace for others." (Theodore the Studite)
Common Questions
How long can we stay?
It depends on the monastery, but usually takes two or three days to a week to discover. Contact the hotel of the place that attracts you to find out its precise terms and conditions.
Am I going to be alone?
No, not alone! You share services and meals with other hosts. A sister hotelier welcomes you and remains available. You can ask to meet a sister. But, you can also experience quiet time in solitude.
Can we bring our phone?
Yes, you can keep your phone. You are invited to put it in silent mode or put it aside during services and times of silence, to promote contemplation.
Is there internet access?
This varies according to the monasteries: some, isolated, have little network. Opportunity to disconnect? Ask before your stay.
Do I have to attend the services?
This is strongly encouraged because it is the heart of monastic life. Attending at least one service a day allows you to fully enter the spirit of the place, at your own pace.
Can we participate in the work of the sisters?
Yes, depending on the monasteries and the needs of the moment: garden, various handicrafts... Some monasteries also offer woofing stays.
What is the price of a stay?
There is often no fixed price, but a range for free participation. Money matters should not be a barrier to a stay. You can talk about it at registration.
